Going Green -

Ok... so I'm doing a research paper on Global Warming. It is primarily on how we as humans have affected Earth and what we need to do to save it. Wow! What an eye opener! I never would have thought that I'd learn so much, and quite honestly, it scares me. This is the planet that my kids and future grandkids will be living in long after I'm gone. I really hope that we can all do our part in preserving it. Each day the glaciers are melting significantly... it's crazy.So... I've actually started to recycle paper, plastics, etc... not just my cans and bottles. I've also ordered a compost bin so that I can eliminate some of my household waste (not to mention it will help fertilize my sad, little garden). I find that I unplug items that I do not need to leave plugged in 24/7. I hope I can teach my children the importance of recycling. Apparently, I'm becoming a "hippie" (according to my sister), but I don't look at it that way. I feel that my mind has been opened to bigger things and important issues that affect each and every one of us...Who would have thought that I would learn so much about such different things when my intent was to learn about Accounting.
