He's growing up...

So, Dennis took the boy & my nephew skiing on Friday... below is a cell phone pic (hence, the quality) that my hubby took just before Trav went down his 1st black diamond! Eeek... when I heard about this, my heart skipped a few beats. The thought of my baby skiing down a steep trail scares me to death! At the same time, it makes me proud to be his mother... he's such a great kid, and everything he does he tries to perfect...

Going Green -

Ok... so I'm doing a research paper on Global Warming. It is primarily on how we as humans have affected Earth and what we need to do to save it. Wow! What an eye opener! I never would have thought that I'd learn so much, and quite honestly, it scares me. This is the planet that my kids and future grandkids will be living in long after I'm gone. I really hope that we can all do our part in preserving it. Each day the glaciers are melting significantly... it's crazy.So... I've actually started to recycle paper, plastics, etc... not just my cans and bottles. I've also ordered a compost bin so that I can eliminate some of my household waste (not to mention it will help fertilize my sad, little garden). I find that I unplug items that I do not need to leave plugged in 24/7. I hope I can teach my children the importance of recycling. Apparently, I'm becoming a "hippie" (according to my sister), but I don't look at it that way. I feel that my mind has been opened to bigger things and important issues that affect each and every one of us...Who would have thought that I would learn so much about such different things when my intent was to learn about Accounting. A late birthday card with money in it totally made Taylor's day. Who would have thought that a 5 year old would be so excited to have a 10 dollar bill? She asked if it was enough to buy a hot tub - LOL! She is her mother's daughter! Anyway... had to share -

Travis lost his 1st top tooth today! It's been hanging on by a thread for a while and it finally fell out into his bowl of soup while eating lunch... mmmm

My baby is 5!

So my baby girl turned 5 on January 14th... I can't even believe it. Now I know what my parents meant when they said that we grew up too fast. I honestly feel like she was just born. I suppose 5 years isn't that long... so why did High School seem like it took forever?

Anyway... I'll post some pictures later ~ She was adorable as usual!

Sick day...

Well... up at 4:30 a.m. with a sick little girl. After a morning of laying around, vomiting and some sleep it seems that my little one is feeling a bit better... I took advantage of this and whipped my dusty camera out. I have really slacked with the photography lately. I need to work on some things, but since she's so cute I had to share:
