Vacations

As I prepare for vacation, I stumbled across this saying.

How true...

I have found myself saying over and over again "I need a vacation..." and I firmly believe this.

In these times, I'm not sure that we carry more stress than our ancestors,

or if we just handle it differently...?

We don't (or at least, I don't) leave much room for margin in my life.

I have a "super-woman, super-mom" attitude and before I know it I am

Overwhelmed...

Not only do I carry the stress of having to go to work everyday,

study for class...

housework...

maintain important friendships...

spend quality time with my kiddos...

spend quality time with my husband...

staying (or trying to stay) involved in the kids' schools...

and so on...

I carry the stress of not having enough of "me" to go around...

not enough time to do it all in...

So, yes... I absolutely need a vacation..

Not only to focus on relaxing,

but spending quality time with my family

and having the quantity as well.
